I am happy to announce another free release from me for the Itch.io community.  This model was created as part of my learning exercise in 3D modeling and design, and I am now giving it away for free to say thanks for all the great advice and resources the game development world has offered me.

The crate is around 9k polys, I may do a lower poly one in the future, but it was mainly for me to learn about baking normal maps and textures. There are some small glitches but I think it is acceptable for a freely released asset.

I do plan to update it and fix any issues that might be flagged with it, but this is intended to be a learning exercise for me rather than an ongoing project as there are other things I would now like to work on. But if you have any problems or questions, please drop me a message

*Please note, all the textures are at 4k, uncompressed, and there are diffuse, roughness and normal maps for 2 sets of objects. You will need to compress or optimize them yourself in the game engine of your choice depending on how you use them*

And if you would like to support my work, please consider following me on Instagram at velo.nasty3d where you can see my projects, what I am working on for the future and generally give me a like a comment. I know it's lame, but these things really keep me motivated and it's very hard to appease the Instagram algorithm gods!

Hi, i have a problem with the model, there are lines / points which appear randomly when moving above the container (Unity) :

Hi Rmel, I'll take a look at this, I think it's a normal mapping problem. I haven't used Unity for a while so I can't remember if you have to set the normal map in a certain way during input but I'll try and have a look at it over the weekend

okay thanks !

PS : if it can help you, there is the same bug on Blender 4.0, Blender 4.1 and Blender 3.5 LTS

Hi !

A very nice model for my sci-fi game ;)

Thank you for your share !
